Description

The P10S-M LGA 1151 Micro ATX Motherboard from ASUS is a Greenlow platform serverboard based on the Intel C232 chipset, LGA 1151 socket, and a 9.6 x 9.6" Micro ATX form factor that can be integrated into short-depth chassis to help increase rack computer density. It supports Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5, Core i3, Pentium, and Celeron processors, as well as Windows and Linux operating systems.

The P10S-M has four UDIMM slots, each of which supports a maximum of 16GB of ECC and non-ECC 2133 MHz DDR4 memory, for a total of 64GB. This serverboard also has a total of 6 x SATA III 6 Gb/s ports, 1 x PCIe x16 (Gen3 x8 link) slot, 1 x PCIe x8 (Gen3 x8 link), 2 x PCIe x8 (Gen3 x4 link) slots, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-A ports, 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A ports, 1 x Serial port, and 1 x PS/2 keyboard/mouse port. Network connectivity is achieved using 2 x Intel I210AT Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, as well as an Mgmt LAN port.

The P10S-M is equipped with graphics support via Aspeed AST2400 graphics with 32MB of VRAM and one VGA output. It also offers NVMe support, an optional PIKE II 3x08 Series SAS 12 Gb/s solution, ASUS' platinum-grade power efficiency, initialisation guidance, and remote server management.

NVMe Support
To implement NVMe applications on the P10S-M, users can directly plug in PCIe NVMe devices or use an ASUS-made PCIe to U.2 adapter (ASUS PCIE-NVME1). By using a mini-SAS HD to mini-SAS HD cable or mini-SAS HD to SFF-8639 cable, the ASUS-made PCIe to U.2 adapter offers a flexible NVMe upgrade package within different usage scenarios.

Optional PIKE II 3x08 Series SAS 12 Gb/s solution
The ASUS PIKE II 3x08 series is a 12 Gb/s SAS and PCIe 3.0 high reliability enterprise storage solution. It meets users' needs with support for 12 Gb/s SAS storage, various RAID levels, and data protection. Upon installing the PIKE II card, the P10S Series can immediately enlarge its capacity and improve its performance, making it a worthy upgrade option.

ASUS Platinum-Grade Power Efficiency
The ASUS P10S-M server board is designed with a platinum power solution built from hand-chosen components which provide titanium efficiency up to 92%. The platinum power solution consists of 3 pillars to achieve its 92% efficiency: 12K Ultra Longevity Solid Capacitor, Beat Thermal Choke III, and Digi+ VRM. 12K solid capacitors are able to withstand up to 1.2 million hours of temperatures as high as 149°F / 65°C (12K hours @ 221°F / 105°C). The 3rd generation Beat Thermal Choke has lower DCR and results in 37°F / 3°C lower choke temperatures to enhance power efficiency. ASUS DIGI+ VRM is a digital VR controller that provides an accurate voltage/current that the CPU requires to reduce switching loss. Therefore, when used in a server machine running 24 hours per day, it will help reduce electronic costs for customers.

Serviceability - Quick Boot
The ASUS P10 Series features quick initialisation guidance which lets users realise a system initialisation state in seconds. The power-on button also activates a screen that displays three pieces of key information: (1) a progress bar that showcases the boot status, (2) a BMC IP address if the ASMB module is mounted on the server, and (3) 2-digit POST code messages are available to give users an understanding of the startup process and also to clearly indicate boot-up status, which can help with troubleshooting

Remote Server Management
The optional IPMI 2.0-compliant ASMB8-iKVM module enables remote BIOS updates, backup and restore configurations, SNMP agent support (MIBs files), audit log, and BIOS post code. With out-of-band management, ASMB8-iKVM provides round-the-clock remote monitoring and diagnosis, even if the server operating system is down or offline, and all through a user-friendly web-based graphical interface that works with all major browsers. In addition, ASWM Enterprise software provides one-to-multiple centralised management including BIOS flash, software dispatch, task scheduler, remote control, and power control, all via a colourful and informative graphical interface.
