Description

The Allen & Heath GLD-112 Chrome Edition is a compact digital mixing surface that is designed to integrate into a GLD digital mixing system, which provides scalable I/O, integrated FX processing, advanced routing, wireless remote mixing via iPad, and much more. Successor to the GLD-112, this version features all of the same functionality of the original, while adding sleek new styling, Automatic Mic Mixing, new embedded plugin FX and new compressor models on all channels. Featuring local I/O comprised of 4 XLR mic/line inputs, 4 XLR line outs, 4 RCA inputs, 2 RCA outputs, and digital outputs in SPDIF and AES3 formats, the GLD-112 Chrome Edition is designed to connect to a range of optional remote I/O racks via Cat5, allowing you to build 28, 36 or 44 mic input systems. The console is ideal for tour sound, and for permanent sound reinforcement installations.

The GLD-112 Chrome Edition mixer provides 48 input processing channels, 8 stereo FX engines, 30 configurable buses, 20 mix processing channels, and enough DSP power to provide processing without compromise. It has an analogue-style channel processing control section, complemented by a graphical 8.4" touchscreen. A fully customisable drag 'n drop layout allows quick and easy assignment of inputs and mixes to fader strips. There are 20 fader strips in 4 layers, each with motorised faders, a channel LCD display which can be named and colour coded, plus a rotary control for direct access to gain, pan, and aux/FX sends.

Remote I/O Module Options
The GLD-112 Chrome Edition connects to a range of plug 'n play I/O racks to 'build' 28, 36 or 44 mic input systems. A primary AR2412 rack (24 XLR inputs, 12 XLR outs) and up to two AR84 expander racks (8 XLR inputs, 4 XLR outs each) can be connected over 120m Cat5 runs using A&H's dSNAKE protocol. Or, the AB168 portable AudioRack can be used, providing 16 XLR inputs and 8 XLR outputs when connected to the GLD-80, or the AR2412 AudioRack. dSNAKE provides control to the remote preamp, and all mic preamps are scene recallable. AR2412 also includes a connection for personal monitoring systems

Flexible Record and Playback Options
GLD-112 Chrome Edition has the ability to record and playback a stereo signal on a USB memory stick. Standard iLive audio I/O option cards for Dante, MADI, EtherSound and Allen & Heath's ACE protocols can be fitted, allowing multi-channel record/playback, FOH/monitor splits, and connection to A&H iLive systems, which can easily be configured using the GLD system's extensive soft-patching

Six Compressor Models on Each Channel
The mixer offers 6 compressor models, all freely available on all input and mix channels. The models capture the audio nuances and non-linear ballistics of industry classics, ranging from slow-opto release, RMS detection, punchy attack, through to super-fast peak compression/limiting. All models also encompass additional essential features, parallel path mode for convenient wet/dry compression balancing, comprehensive side-chain filter and gain reduction histogram

Automatic Mic Mixer
Automatic mic mixer (AMM) features make the console ideal for mixing conferences, panel talks and TV shows. The AMM can be configured to work across 44 microphone sources, allowing the user to select which inputs should be auto-mixed without the usual restrictions of a 16 channel insert based system. The AMM can be set to work in two modes - 'D-Classic' dynamic gain sharing for a simple quick set-up, and 'Number of Open Microphones' (NOM) logic gate technology for a more flexible and sophisticated auto mix

8 Stereo RackExtra FX Engines
The GLD-112 Chrome Edition boasts 8 stereo RackExtra FX engines with dedicated channels to handle them all without compromise. These feature top-quality emulations and developments of popular industry classics. The engines provide very low latency and instant access to all 8 effects at all times. No need for licences or complex configuration. Any combination of up to 8 FX devices can be loaded. A back panel allows patching as mix send/returns or as inserts into specific channels. A front-panel view presents a familiar classic knob layout where the user can adjust the many parameters, select from numerous presets and create new ones, and transfer them between systems using a USB key. FX can be returned via input channels or dedicated short returns with 4-band PEQ
