Description

Built with a USB 3.0 controller, the M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 AM3+ Micro-ATX Motherboard from ASUS is designed to fit in cases that support the micro-ATX form factor. This 9.0 x 9.6" motherboard supports AMD FX, Phenom II, Athlon II, and Sempron 100 Series processors, the AM3+ socket, and the AMD 760G (780L) / SB710 chipset.

The micro-ATX form factor of the M5A78L-M PLUS has eight DIMM slots that are able to support up to 32GB of both ECC and non-ECC unbuffered dual-channel memory modules. The supported memory speeds are 2000 (OC), 1866 (OC), 1800 (OC), 1600 (OC), 1333, and 1066 MHz. There are also a total of six SATA III 6 Gb/s ports. Additionally, there is one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, one PCIe 2.0 x1 slot, and one PCI slot. USB 3.0 connectivity is integrated with two Type-A ports on the back panel and two at mid-board, as well as four USB 2.0/1.1 ports on the back panel and another four at mid-board. Using the Realtek ALC887 High Definition audio codec, this motherboard can support 8-channel (7 speakers + 1 subwoofer) HD audio.

The M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 Motherboard is equipped integrated ATI Radeon 3000 graphics that has access to 1GB of shared memory. Video may be output to external displays using either the HDMI, DVI-D, or VGA ports at resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz. There is also support for Hybrid CrossFireX. ASUS has also designed this motherboard with features such as an EPU-4 Engine, Gigabit Ethernet, anti-surge protection, ESD guards, Fan Xpert, EZ Flash 2, and more. This motherboard includes an I/O Shield and two SATA III 6 Gb/s cables. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty.
