The Ninja V is a bright, 5" on-camera touchscreen display that can preview up to DCI 4K video via its HDMI input on its 1920 x 1080 screen. It supports recording up to 10-bit 4:2:2 Apple ProRes raw to an external SSD, and it features 1000 cd/m² brightness, AtomHDR mode, 10-stop dynamic range support, a durable aluminium enclosure, and a Sony L-series battery slot.

The AtomX CAST converts your Ninja V monitor into a full multicamera broadcast studio, allowing you to switch up to four HDMI video sources and output it to a variety of destinations such as an external monitor, a recorder, a separate switcher, or a live streaming computer. It mounts onto the back of the Ninja V and provides four HDMI inputs that support a mix of different resolutions up to 1080p60. Its features include single image preview, Picture-in-Picture, or 4-Up modes, and you can also add logos and graphic overlays, source-select buttons, programmable function buttons, and touchscreen select option. It can also be used to live stream using the separately available AtomX Connect via USB to your computer.

Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor

The Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor is a 5" on-camera monitor/recorder that records and plays back up to DCI 4K and records to purpose-built mini-SSDs. This monitor can record Apple ProRes Raw up to DCI 4K60 directly from the sensor of select cameras. Display features include a 10-bit screen with a brightness of 1000 cd/m² AtomHDR technology for accurate monitoring of your log gamma footage, and support for popular log formats from Sony, ARRI, Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Nikon, RED, Sony, and Z CAM cameras.

Built to withstand the rigours of production, the Ninja V features an aluminium chassis and powers from a single L-series battery. Additional features include a variety of onscreen exposure analysis, framing, anamorphic de-squeeze, and focus assist tools. Separately available AtomX SDI, AtomX SYNC, Connect 4K modules, and an SDI Raw licence key to further expand your Ninja V's capabilities. Firmware update 10.61 brings customised timecode sequences that can be saved as a single file.

5" Daylight Viewable Screen

The Ninja V features a 5" IPS LCD screen that is illuminated by a bright 1000 cd/m² LED backlight, making it possible to view in daylight without requiring a hood. Plus, the screen is also colour-calibrated from the factory to ensure accurate image representation.

4K 60p Capabilities

Record DCI or UHD 4K at rates up to 60 fps, including 24 and 25 fps for a more filmlike aesthetic. All recordings are stored as high-quality Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR files with 10-bit 4:2:2 chroma subsampling. A variety of bit rates are available to fit your project and storage needs.

SSD Recording

Record to standard 2.5" SSD drives or to compact AtomX SSDmini drives offering up to 2TB storage. SSDmini drives offer read speeds up to 550 MB/s and write speeds up to 500 MB/s, capturing up to 150 minutes of 4K video on a 1TB drive.

User Calibration

Calibrate with the separately available X-Rite i1 Display Pro tool to maintain optimal colour accuracy.

Anamorphic De-Squeeze The Ninja V supports anamorphic de-squeeze, allowing you to comfortably view anamorphic footage with 2x, 1.5x, 1.33x, or Panasonic 8:3 ratios.

Selectable Markers

A wide variety of frame lines include standard versions plus 1:1, 4:5, 1:91:1, and 9:16 options.

Game Capture

Atomos AtomX CAST HDMI Switching Dock

Convert your Ninja V monitor into a full multi-camera broadcast studio with the AtomX CAST from Atomos. The AtomX CAST allows you to switch up to four HDMI video sources and output to a variety of destinations such as an external monitor, a recorder, a separate switcher, or to a live streaming computer. Applications include corporate, house of worship, event, family, or studio production environments.

The CAST is specially designed to mount onto the back of the Ninja V monitor, and it provides four HDMI inputs that support a mix of different resolutions up to 1080p60. The monitor can view a single image, Picture-in-Picture, or 4-Up modes, and you can also add logos and graphic overlays. It can send Programme, Preview, Picture-in-Picture, and 4-Up displays to the HDMI output. You can select the source for monitor/output using the four source buttons, and you can also select the source using the monitor touchscreen. There are also four programmable function buttons to perform specific shortcuts.

The monitor allows you to preview your broadcast while simultaneously outputting to a recorder, a monitor, a projector, or when using the optional AtomX Connect for live streaming using a computer. It is compatible with most streaming platforms such as Skype, Zoom, Teams, and more using UVC with the included USB Type-C cable.
