SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive for iPhone and iPad (128GB)

Description

The SanDisk iXpand is a standard USB flash drive that also features a Lightning connector. It's designed to let you connect to your iPhone or iPad and transfer out photos, videos, and music. File selection is done via an included (free-download) iXpand app. The files get transferred to the drive, and from there you can offload them to a computer the way you normally would from a USB flash drive. But this is only one of the features of the iXpand. You can also just keep the files on the drive and access them at any time from your iPhone/iPad. To do this, just connect back into the iPhone/iPad, and the iXpand app will recognise the files and will allow you to access them right off of the drive. The iXpand also provides a convenient way of simply freeing up your iPhone/iPad—especially in urgent situations, and it can be used as a standard USB flash drive. It supports virtually all the popular photo, video, and audio formats. This model features 128 GB of storage space and is compatible with iOS 7.1+ and Macs and PCs.

When you transfer files from your iPhone/iPad, the iXpand app will let you choose between keeping the original files or having them removed after the transfer. The app can also be set to transfer any new files automatically as soon as you connect the iXpand. In this case the app is able to distinguish between new files and those that have already been transferred. You can also password-protect all your files with a password or touch ID. Password-protection uses 128-bit AES encryption.

The iXpand runs on an internal 3.7V battery with approximately 3-4 hours of in-use run-time, but battery power is only required when interfacing with your iPhone/iPad. The battery can be charged by connecting the iXpand to a standard USB charger or by just plugging into your computer's USB port. Red and green indicators on the side of the drive will always let you know the status of the battery.
