High-performance optics

Constructed with high-performance optics and multi-coatings on all lens elements, the new PRO binoculars deliver bright clear field of view. The auxiliary prism features ielectric high-reflective multilayer coating to offers users a maximum transmittance of over 94% in the visible wavelength range. ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) Coating, developed using multilayer film disposition technology used on camera lenses and microscopes, is used to significantly reduce ghosts and flares. An ED lens on the objective side suppresses chromatic aberrations which cause colour bleeding. Additionally, the phase-correction coating corrects the phase deviation in light beams, which is characteristic of roof prisms, improving resolution and contrast.

Closest focusing distance

The new PRO binoculars can focus from a distance of 1.5 meters, making closer objects larger, observing more objects such as plants, flowers, and insects on the ground, and flowers blooming on trees.

Durability The binoculars feature a waterproof design that keeps water out even when submerged at a depth of 1 meter for 5 minutes. The body is filled with nitrogen gas resulting in construction that prevents fogging inside the optical system, even when used in places with significant temperature differences. Both the objective lenses and eyepiece lenses feature oil-repellent coating, making it easy to wipe off water droplets or dirt from the surface of the lenses.

The slim, simple design removes all excesses, resulting in a sharp profile line that is the characteristic look of Olympus OM-D cameras. Superb ergonomic controls and grip when holding the binoculars results in a model that is easy to hold and operate. Both models feature various improvements in controls, such as extended eye relief that makes using the binoculars comfortable even when wearing glasses, a diopter adjustment ring ±2D that adjusts left and right visibility differences, a flip-down type lens cap to prevent users from losing, and new strap mount designed to accommodate camera straps.
