Description

The Voice, Data, & Video MapMaster from Platinum Tools is a device that gives you continuity testing, mapping, and a tone generator, all in one unit. It’s suitable for technicians working in both commercial or residential enterprises, and is capable of identifying and mapping up to 19 locations simultaneously, though the remotes themselves are available separately. Coax cables can be tested, as can Cat6, Cat5e, Cat5, Cat4, and Cat3 connections.

You can connect video and data cables to their correlating remotes for simultaneous testing, and patch cables can be tested from the device without removing the master remote from storage. A highly readable 7-segment LCD screen provides large icons, allowing you to clearly see the readouts.

You also get a voltage-detection warning icon and a LOOP-ON mode, which is useful for troubleshooting problems that seem to be intermittent in nature. Its battery will last up to 425 hours, and weighing just 255.15 g, the unit is quite portable.
