It also has a 3.5mm audio output so you can separately run audio since the VGA output is only capable of passing video. This convertor requires no power source, as it gets its power from your micro-HDMI source, but because it converts both video and audio, the power coming from your micro-HDMI source may not be enough, depending on the source. For this reason this convertor also has a USB port for supplementary power -- whenever your micro-HDMI source doesn't provide enough power, just plug in a USB cable running from your computer, or connect a USB power adapter, and you'll have sufficient power.
