This kit combines the Syrp Slingshot, Genie, and Ballhead to provide you with a complete package for capturing motion-controlled tracking shots for extended lengths.

The Slingshot and Genie work together to capture motion-controlled real-time or time-lapse video over 25m using included ropes. It can also operate over distances up to 100m using optional ropes from Syrp. The ball head is included for attaching your camera. The Genie secures on top of the Slingshot while your camera goes on the bottom via the ball head.

The Slingshot is designed to easily secure to two anchor points, such as trees or light posts, as low as near ground level or way up in the air to capture vast high production value shots. It sets up in just minutes using a quick release ratchet mechanism.

The Syrp Slingshot is designed to take motion control capture to the next level. Whereas motion control is normally limited to the length of your slider, the Slingshot allows you to achieve motion control for distances up to 100m. Moreover, it can be used high above the ground, so you can capture vast nature and city landscapes. You'll just need the motion control device itself in addition—either the Syrp Genie, Genie Mini, or multiples of these, all sold separately.

Capture high production value shots in stadiums, parks, metropolitan areas, and pretty much anywhere else. Simply secure one mounting bar to a tree, light post, or something similar, and likewise fix the second bar a distance away. Instal the included ropes between the two bars and then just place the Slingshot on top on its wheels. This could be done as low as near ground level or way up in the air. Everything, including the bars, sets up in just minutes, as all the components are designed to secure by a quick release ratchet mechanism. Even securing the bars to a tree or post requires no special effort.

The optional Genie attaches on top of the Slingshot, and your camera goes on the bottom via a ball head (not included). The Genie provides tracking movement and allows you to capture real-time footage as well as time-lapse video. It's the Genie that's capable of operating at a max distance up to 100m. The Slingshot comes with 25m ropes for the Slingshot and the Genie, but you can get optional Syrp ropes up to 100m for both.

You can also combine the Genie and Genie Mini together, or the Genie with two Genie Minis, to achieve up to full three-axis capture—tracking, panning, and tilting—at the same time. Furthermore, the Genies can be controlled using an iOS or Android app. When combining a Genie with two Genie Minis, a sync cable and pan/tilt bracket are also required.

The Slingshot is designed to be portable. Its components quickly and easily come apart from one another and neatly pack away into a custom designed backpack with pockets for each piece.

The Genie Motion Control Time-Lapse Device from Syrp is your key to the creative world of time-lapse photography or real-time video. The 4" cube takes up very little space in your bag, and at only 1.5kg it's easy to make it part of your standard rig.

The Genie, which allows both panning and linear motion control, attaches to standard gear such as dollies, sliders, jib arms, and tripods. Simply attach it to your tripod or support and mount your optional camera and ball head to the 3/8"-16 stud atop the Genie. The weight of your equipment is rarely a concern since it supports up to 20kg. An illuminated bubble level is built-in for setting up in low light. The Genie has factory presets such as Stars, People, or Clouds, but you can enter an unlimited amount of user presets into the Genie's memory for custom work. At maximum panning speed, a 360° pan takes five seconds, while 99cm of linear movement takes just 23 seconds.

Linear time-lapse can be done on a rail or on a linear support system of your own making. While the Genie comes with 25cm of rope to pull it across the rail, the movement of your time-lapse is only limited by the length of your rope.

Inputs include both USB for firmware and a sensor input. The free firmware upgrade enables bulb ramp-in and ramp-out functions, as well as HDR (High Dynamic Range). Ramping is the process of modifying exposure settings on a camera to maintain a desired exposure value while the camera is in Bulb mode. This is especially valuable for transitional day into night, or night into day time-lapses.

The sensor input accepts a motion, light, sound, or other type of sensor to start your programme in response to specific stimuli. The Genie ships with both panning and sliding bases, two slider mounts, 25cm of rope, and a multi-voltage charger for its built-in battery. A three-hour charge gives you about 12 hours of run time, depend on the weight of your camera. The Genie is compatible with approximately 130 cameras from nine major brands. A camera link cable must be purchased separately.

The Syrp Ballhead is designed to work with the Genie Motion Control Time Lapse Device, but can also be used with most tripods or monopods. It has an Arca-type quick release plate with a locking knob to secure your camera in place. It can hold up to 12kg and weighs less than a pound at only 340g. The ballhead has separate locking knobs for tilting and 360º panning. Cameras attach to the plate with a 1/4"-20 male thread and the ballhead attaches to the Genie or other support with a 3/8"-16 female thread.
