Description
The Sony FS5 Recoil shoulder-mounted rig includes our VCT Pro baseplate, the FS5 Grip Relocator for the Sony FS5 handgrip,a 34.3 cm LANC extension cable, the FS5 Top Plate, and our Axis Mini for Sony FS5 which can be used with either the Gratical HD, Eye or the Sony LCD monitor with Zacuto Z-Finder.
This is a Next Generation Recoil rig designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted or on a tripod. With lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is where the lens meets the camera body. In a Recoil rig, the balance point needs to be directly over your shoulder which puts the camera behind you. This requires focus, monitoring and camera controls to be relocated forward, creating a lighter and shorter rig.
VCT Pro Baseplate – this baseplate has a sliding top plate for quickly removing the camera from the rig or fast len changes, a built-in, curved shoulder pad, a v-wedge tripod connector (with ¼” 20 and 3/8" 16 screw option). It has removable and extendable 16.5 cm iris rods and rows of ¼” 20 screw holes along the sides for accessories. It has quick release 15mm rod parts in the rear. The recessed rod mount offers maximum accessory capable space under your camera lens.
Rosette Grip Relocator – allows you to relocate the Sony handgrip from the side of the camera to your handgrip. The silver rosette adapter screws onto the Sony grip with 4 included screws. This adapter allows you to attach the handgrip adapter to the Sony handgrip via an M6 male screw. The handgrip fully articulates at a ball joint via the red quick release lever.
FS5 Top Plate – Designed to fit around the Sony top handle, this Top Plate gives you a side facing 15mm rod lock and multiple mounting screw holes.
Axis Mini for FS5 – takes the highly regarded 1.5 cm, 1280 x 1024 micro OLED panel found in their Gratical HD and packs into an EVF that weighs just 14 oz and fits into the palm of your hand. In order to keep the EVF small and compact, it features a round design and it equipped with only a single 3G-SDI input that supports up to 1080p60 video, a 2-pin LEMO power connector, and a USB port for firmware updates.
