Description

Zoom's A3 Preamp / Effects Pedal for Acoustic Guitar not only adds to the creative possibilities of your sound, with acoustic guitar modelling and emulation and onboard effects, but also solves common technical issues during live performance, with its gain-boosting and feedback-control functions and its variety of filters.

The A3 provides modelling presets for 16 different body types, like the standard Single Cutaway and the acclaimed Martin 00. If you want to impress the audience by capturing the sound of one of many famous acoustic guitars, like Joni Mitchell's, the pedal has 28 world-renowned acoustic guitar emulations to choose from. Also, you can get crazy with the A3's 40 onboard effects by simultaneously chaining up to three of them, like Flange or Pitch Shift, and then syncing your playing up polyrhythmically to your song with the Tap Tempo function. Also, if you just need to doctor up the natural tone of instrument, you can choose from a multitude of the A3's filters.

Accessible via the onboard footswitch are 20 memory locations for storing and recalling your created patches in between songs – making it a lot more convenient than dialling in settings on your analogue pedals. The A3 also has an auto-save function in case of one of those unexpected switch-box trips.

A flat, tinny, wimpy sound can immediately kill the attention span of your audience, while just a bit of feedback will usually clear a room in less than 10 seconds. With features like the Anti-Feedback circuit, 3-band AEQ, and Clean Boost, you can tweak and tailor your sound to the room by boosting your signal by up to 12dB, cutting some of those piercing highs, and restraining rogue frequencies before they get out of hand.

The A3 has separate input jacks for the pickup and microphone with dedicated gain controls for each, as well as a master level knob, phantom power on the microphone input, and a wet/dry balance control. This gives you more control over your sound, so that you won't have to rely on the soundperson's taste as they mix you in the PA. Hosted on a bright LCD screen, the graphic interface allows for straightforward navigation.

With the dual line-level outputs, you can monitor your sound using headphones as well as connect to the PA. Additionally, the balanced XLR output with its ground switch enables the A3 to be used as a direct box, so that you don't have to settle for the venue's beat-up one. The onboard chromatic tuner supports a variety of standard guitar tunings. Also, you can bypass all effects during tuning and mute the outputs so that you can tune accurately and silently. Zoom's A3 preamp/effects pedal also comes with a power supply.
