Designed to host a variety of camera accessories on a sturdy, stable rig, the modular system is based on a pair of 12" industry-standard 15mm rods. One handgrip attaches to the front of these, and the other is offset by a third 4" rod to keep your hands at a natural distance apart. Your small (8 lb or less) camera attaches via a rosette screw to a cheese plate, which mounts to the rods by way of a rod mount adapter. At the rear of the rig, the adjustable Recoil Body attaches via a hardware assembly to the main 15mm rods.
The Recoil XT rig is designed to be expandable. Most elements tighten, adjust, and remove easily through the use of thumbscrews. All ikan Elements hardware is based on industry-standard connections (15mm rods and 1/4" screws, primarily), so it's a simple matter of adding a part if you want to expand your Recoil XT rig to host, for instance, a follow focus device or a wireless audio receiver. Major parts are aluminum with a powder-coated black finish.
