The Audio-Technica BP28L Line + Gradient Large-Diaphragm Condenser Shotgun Microphone is a shotgun microphone designed to provide accurate and natural sounding speech and dialogue. It combines the directional characteristics of shotgun microphones with a highly sensitive, large-diaphragm condenser mic capsule. With its very high directivity, low noise, and transparent audio reproduction, the BP28L is ideal for various applications such as broadcast, video, feature film, and theatre.
To accommodate the large capsule, the BP28L features a 28mm diameter body. It also incorporates a lengthy interference tube that allows for extremely narrow audio capture focused on the subject at the end of the barrel. Moreover, the mic includes a directional (gradient) element in the tube to minimize pickup from the rear. Despite its durable aluminium housing, the BP28L remains lightweight, making it easy to position and handle on a boom during active productions.
