Teaming up with Black Lion Audio in Chicago, Avantone has introduced the Avantone Pro CV-12 BLA Black Lion Modded Multi-Pattern Large-Diaphragm Tube Microphone, a modified version of their popular CV-12 multi-pattern large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone. This microphone features a 34mm CK12-style capsule, a 6072A tube output stage, and a power supply with low-noise circuitry. The CV-12 BLA delivers a warm, vintage tone with a flatter frequency response and greater headroom compared to the original model. Designed for versatility in the studio, this microphone is ideal for capturing vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, drum overheads, room ambience, piano, and more.
The power supply of the CV-12 BLA includes a nine-position polar pattern knob that allows you to select between omnidirectional, cardioid, figure-8, or positions in-between to customize the sound pickup. Additionally, there is a 10 dB pad switch for recording loud instruments and voices without distortion, as well as an 80 Hz high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency rumble.
Included with the CV-12 BLA is a Jetsun shockmount, which enables close placement of instruments and windscreens to the capsule for enhanced proximity effect. This microphone comes with a padded wooden box for protection during storage and a deluxe faux-alligator case for stylish transportation of the mic, power supply, and accessories.
