Essentially three pedals in one housing, the Electro-Harmonix Cock Fight Plus gives you two different kinds of wah effects (talk-wah and cry-wah), as well as fuzz distortion, and is suitable for both electric guitar and bass. The unit differs in one key way from the original Cock Fight: it provides you with the traditional, rack-and-pinion style variable foot pedal you'Voe come to expect out of your wah-wah pedals.
The unit's fuzz effect can be used in series, placing it either before or after the wah—or you can bypass the fuzz entirely. Should you call upon the fuzz, the Tone knob will allow you to blend between a darker sound and a brighter one. The Drive knob, of course, will set the amount of distortion you're adding. Also, a Bias knob controls the bias voltage supplied to the transistors in the fuzz circuit which shape the tonal characteristics related to the fuzz; crank it one way and you'll affect a "normal" sound, but twist it in the other direction and you'll approximate a "dying battery" effect. A 9V battery is included with the Cock Fight Plus, though you can also secure an optional EHX power supply (9.6 VDC / 200 mA) and power the pedal that way.
Lastly, don't discount the BOT knob—this one is particularly useful when applied in conjunction with electric bass or low-tuned guitars, as it can restore some of the lows that may be lost within the filter sweep, adding them back into the mix.
