I got sick of the cheap microphone arm I had on my desk for my podcast. And I was debating on getting a higher quality one, but I think it would still be in the way. I then saw a video of some people with mic stands like this on the desk, after some research the Rode DS-1 was what I decided on getting. Some reviews on other sites state that the base is not heavy enough, and it falls over once they put their mic on it. I have no idea what mic they are trying to put on it as it seems plenty heavy enough to hold normal sized mics. It works really well for me, and I'm glad I upgraded to this.Read more Read less
