The SmallRig 3940B Camera Cage for Nikon Z8 is designed to protect the camera and support accessory mounting. It locks the camera in place using one bottom 1/4"-20 screw, one locating screw, and one side lock adapter on the right. The cage also features rubber pads to prevent scratches while maintaining full access to buttons, card slots, the flip screen, and the battery door.
Accessory mounting options
Among its accessory mounting points, the cage includes a 1/4"-20 threaded hole, a 3/8"-16 threaded hole, and an ARRI 3/8"-16 locating hole, which support Side Handle 2916 & 4015, Top Handle 3765, Monitor Mount 2903B & 2904B, Manfrotto Plate 4233 & 4234, Holder for Portable Power Banks BUB2336, and mini V Mount Battery Plate 2987. The side 1/4"-20 locating hole fits Single Rod Clamp 3598 and Magic Arm 3873, while the left NATO rail allows quick connection of Side Handle 3260 & 4017.
Additional mounting and carrying features
The cage also includes cold shoe mounts for a microphone and LED video light, strap holes for Hand Strap 3848 & 5054, and QD mounts for a QD strap buckle.
Quick-release plate and included tool
The bottom Arca-Swiss quick-release plate supports Arca-type tripods as well as DJI RS 2 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 Pro / RS 5 gimbals, enabling quick switching between gimbal, handheld, and tripod modes. A double-ended wrench is also included for easy assembly and disassembly.
