The Soundcraft Si Performer 3 Digital Live Console is designed for various live sound reinforcement applications, including houses of worship, music venues, bands, corporate events, and more. It is particularly useful for situations where one operator needs to control both the sound and lighting, thanks to its integrated DMX controller and support for Soundcraft's ViSi Remote App for Apple iPad.
The mixer utilizes EMMA DSP processors, providing the equivalent of 448 rack units worth of DSP. It includes a 4-band fully parametric AEQ, four MX4000-based Lexicon stereo effects engines, and extensive dynamic processing. Customization options include assignable faders, assignable patching, and flexible routing. The four mix busses use internal Lexicon FX processors for left/center/right micing, each featuring a compressor, 4-band fully parametric AEQ, graphic EQs, and delay.
One of the innovative features of this mixer is the integrated DMX 512 control interface, which allows for full automation in simultaneously controlling a simple lighting display while mixing live sound. This includes functions such as spots and can color mixing with fader level.
The mixer's I/O can be expanded with additional ViSi Connect option cards, providing an additional 128x96 input/output paths. These cards accept various formats, including MultiDigital Card (Firewire/USB/ADAT), BSS Digital Audio Bus (BLU link), Dante, CAT5 or optical MADI, AVIOM, and CobraNet, among others. This allows for integration with other live mixing and multi-track recording environments.
The available ViSi Remote iPad control application enables users to adjust individual channel strip settings using an iPad. This includes controlling parameters such as the AEQ, compressor, gate, pan, LR/MONO, and phase invert switches, allowing for optimized front of house mix adjustment.
