In the world of analog synthesis, few pieces of gear evoke as much nostalgia and creativity as the Behringer BQ-10 24-Step Classic Analog Sequencer Eurorack Module (80 HP). With its powerful 12-step sequencer, it quickly became a staple for electronic musicians, but like many synths of its era, it was large and cumbersome. Our goal has always been to make gear, even rare pieces, more accessible, which is why we’re introducing the Behringer BQ-10, a fresh take on a vintage design that honors a classic while adding updated features.
Take a Step and Another
The BQ-10 is packed with features that make it both versatile and powerful. It can function as a single 16-step sequencer or split into dual 8-step sequences (Channels A and B) for greater flexibility. Channel C is a separate 8-step channel where you can connect an external synth like the Behringer K-2 MKII via CV for controlling filter or amplitude. Each step includes a voltage output knob as well as a dedicated trigger output, allowing you to shorten sequences by connecting specific steps to the Reset input.
Expand Your Horizons
The rotary Sequence Mode knob lets you choose between 8 play modes for Channels A and B, while Channel C can run continuously depending on the selected mode. By default, a sequence runs on the BQ-10’s internal clock, which can be adjusted with the Clock Generator knob from 20 bpm to 500 bpm. CV inputs are also available for connecting external voltage sources to override the internal clock. Each channel features its own portamento control, letting you decide whether each step glides smoothly into the next or delivers a more staccato feel.
