The Electro-Harmonix Super Switcher Programmable Effects Hub is a programmable hub for stompbox effects chains. Instead of tap dancing around as you try to turn on multiple pedals at once, you can connect up to eight pedals and assign them to a single footswitch. Imagine switching from chorused, clean tone to a fuzzed-out sound with an octavized stereo delay—all with one tap of your toe. This is now possible with the Super Switcher.
Not only can you gracefully switch between chains of pedals, you can also send tap-tempo information to applicable effects. You can feed signal to two dedicated general-purpose control outputs, and send MIDI messages to apposite MIDI devices for automated control. All of this allows you to create studio-style stereo effects from the stage, when you need them.
A level boost can be assigned to any preset, and the muted tuner output will come in handy for tuning between songs. The Super Switcher comes with its own power supply.
Key Features:
Up to 8 Effects Loops
The Super Switcher offers eight switchable effects loops, as well as an insert loop. The first six loops are mono, while loops 7 and 8 can be utilised in mono or stereo. Use the insert loop for any global processor whose controls you'd like to manipulate manually at all times. It's a good place for your volume pedal, for instance. A stereo output section is provided should you prefer dual amp setups.
128 Presets
Once your pedals are routed in whatever scheme you like (dry/wet, wet/dry/wet, 4-cable method, etc.), you can programme your presets into any of the numbered footswitches. There are eight in total. With up/down bank select footswitches, you'll have the ability to programme and recall up to 128 presets. Simply press one of the eight Loop buttons while pressing a footswitch to add one or more loops to your preset.
Multiple Modes
The Super Switch gives you the ability to choose between Preset and Instant Access modes. In Preset mode, pressing a numbered footswitch automatically takes you from one preprogrammed effects chain to another. In Instant Access mode, the eight footswitches act individually, engaging or bypassing each effect like a normal pedalboard. However, anything you do in Instant Access mode can be saved as a preset for use in the first mode when you switch back.
Multiple Uses
Not only can you gracefully switch between chains of pedals, you can also send tap-tempo information to applicable effects. You can feed signal to two dedicated general-purpose control outputs, and send MIDI messages to apposite MIDI devices for automated control. All of this allows you to create studio-style stereo effects from the stage if that suits you.
Built-In Boost Switch
The Super Switcher offers a built-in boost switch if you want to add a little gain to your signal. Any preset can include this boost switch. Boost level is set by the knob above the Preset footswitch.
