The Fenix PD40R V3 Rechargeable LED Flashlight has undergone significant improvements compared to previous versions. It now features an easy-grip rotary switch that allows for effortless one-handed selection of brightness levels. Users can choose from four different levels, ranging from 30 to 3000 lumens. Additionally, the flashlight offers an SOS mode and a disorienting strobe mode, which emits a powerful 3000-lumen strobe for self-defence purposes.
One of the notable upgrades is the ability to charge the flashlight's 21700 battery directly in the light through a USB-C connection. Moreover, the absence of a tail switch enables the flashlight to stand on its tail, allowing for hands-free use.
To ensure durability and reliability, the flashlight is constructed with a waterproof and impact-resistant housing made from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. It also has a Type III hard-anodised finish. The PD40R V3 is powered by a single high-capacity 5000mAh 21700 battery. Alternatively, it can also run on a smaller 18650 battery using an optional battery holder, although this may affect the output and runtime of the flashlight.
