ARTICULATOR Evo from Antares is a modern-day version of the talk box. The talk box was a processor that allowed for extracting the formant and amplitude information from a vocal (or other dynamic source) and applying it to any other audio track or to a built-in broadband noise generator.
The processor does not mix the control signal with the original, but rather computes a new signal that contains the extracted information. Functioning as an AAX Native, Audio Units, RTAS, or VST3 plug-in for Mac or Windows based audio software, ARTICULATOR Evo is perfect for creating talking guitars, singing synthesisers, and a wide range of special effects.
