Direct Connect for RODE Wireless GO (Gen 3) and Wireless PRO


Following on from the success of the integration of Bluetooth® connectivity via Direct Connect for the Wireless Micro, we're thrilled to announce the feature has extended to two of the most popular mics in RØDE's Wireless Range, the Wireless GO (Gen 3) and our flagship Wireless PRO.

Available through the RØDE Capture app, this update allows users to connect their GO and PRO transmitters directly to iOS devices without the need for a physical receiver. It dramatically simplifies setup, improves portability and enhances the overall RØDE Capture experience - delivering seamless wireless freedom to content creators and professionals alike.

How to get started:

Step 1: Update Your Device Firmware via RØDE Central

Important: You cannot update the firmware required for Direct Connect using the mobile app alone. You must use the desktop version of RØDE Central. 

  1. Download the latest version of RØDE Central on your Mac or PC.

  2. Connect your Wireless PRO or Wireless GO (Gen 3) units (both receiver and transmitters) to your computer.

  3. Launch RØDE Central. If a firmware update is available, you’ll be prompted to Install it.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update for all units.

Step 2: Prepare RØDE Capture

Once your hardware is updated, move to your iPhone.

  1. Ensure you have the latest version of the RØDE Capture app installed from the App Store.

  2. Open RØDE Capture.

Step 3: Pairing Your Transmitters

  1. Turn on your transmitters.

  2. In RØDE Capture, follow the on-screen prompts to enter the pairing menu.

  3. Select the option to pair via Direct Connect.

  4. The app will scan for available transmitters. Once they appear, tap to connect.

You are now connected wirelessly, directly to the app, ready to record broadcast-quality audio.

With Direct Connect, users can:

  • Scan and pair compatible transmitters inside the RØDE Capture app

  • Monitor mic levels in real time

  • Record separate or merged tracks

  • Control Gain Assist settings through the app
