The SmallRig 6776 "HawkLock" Cage for Sony FX5 is designed to protect camera and provide accessory mounting points. The modular cage consists of a NATO rail and a U-shaped cage. The NATO rail is secured on the top via two 1/4"-20 screws and removed to allow installing the original XLR top handle; the U-shaped cage is fixed via 1/4"-20 screws on both sides and at the bottom to prevent twisting, with a cushion against scratches. At the battery door there is a hinge arm that fits camera curve for improved grip experience for little finger. A dedicated HDMI cable clamp protects interfaces to ensure stable signal transmission. The patented self-developed quick release structure (named HawkLock) covers the NATO rail and Arca-Swiss plate, and is used in conjunction with HawkLock eco-accessories, such as the Top Handle4483, the Side Handle4485, the Arca-Swiss Clamp4486, etc., to achieve smooth sliding in and self-locking to improve the efficiency of disassembling and reassembling; and at the same time, it is compatible with the traditional cold shoe, NATO Clamp, and the Arca-Swiss Clamp eco-accessories. In addition, the cage is built-in 1/4“-20 threaded holes,ARRI 3/8”-16 Locating Hole, 1/4”-20 locating holes, QD socket, strap slot, and can be expanded with accessories such as Magic Arm3873, Top Handle2165C, Rod Clamp3598, QD Shoulder Strap, Hand Strap3848, and Shoulder StrapPSC2428for professional creation. A magnetic wrench is also included for easy assembly and disassembly.
Note:
When using the top plate, confirmed compatible hot shoe accessories include the Sony ECM-B1M, ECM-M1, ECM-B10, and the DJI Mic 2 hot shoe adapter. Confirmed incompatible hot shoe accessories include the Sony ECM-W3, ECM-W3S, and ECM-W2BT microphones.
When using the Sony XLR handle (XLRH2B) or Sony EVF (DVFEL1B), the top plate must be removed first.
