The Tilta Camera Cage for Sony FX5 Pro Kit (Black) is designed to empower and expand your cinema camera for virtually any shooting scenario. Custom designed for the Sony FX5 camera body, the full cage features three points of contact for a stable, twist-free connection. The cage can also be converted into a lightweight half cage by removing two bottom screws and taking off the handle-side bracket. With this setup, users can achieve a lighter and less bulky configuration while still maintaining important functionality. You can switch freely between the two modes depending on your setup needs.
Versatile cage design
The full cage offers many ways to mount a wide range of accessories, including 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with various locating points, a cold shoe receiver, a NATO rail for top handles, and mounting points for a single rod holder.
The standalone top plate is a NATO rail that adds multiple threads for more flexible accessory mounting. Meanwhile, 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16, and NATO options open up mounting possibilities in every direction, all while maintaining support for the camera’s original XLR handle.
Fast transitions and balanced support
A bi-directional ARCA bottom plate slides in from either direction for fast transitions between tripods and gimbals. A new DJI gimbal center-positioning point on the bottom reduces balancing time, and a separate center-positioning point for baseplates helps users build a well-balanced rig.
Reinforced corners on the cage help guard against accidental bumps and damage during active filming, providing extra peace of mind in unpredictable shooting environments. A locking HDMI cable clamp keeps cables secure and helps maintain a safe, constant signal.
Accessibility and ergonomic handling
All buttons, dials, and screen functionality remain fully accessible. Special clearances are designed to ensure nothing is blocked. The cage is also built to integrate seamlessly with the Nucleus Autofocus Adapter, allowing you to use the adapter directly with the cage without interference.
The camera’s grip is reshaped and, when combined with the cage’s grip, follows the natural curve of the palm with a dedicated pinky rest. This elevates the camera grip into something truly ergonomic and comfortable.
Included top handle
Included in this kit is the Xeno Top Handle, which connects to the top plate via the top NATO rail and improves handling through an elegant design with increased clearance. This handle features multiple mounting options for additional accessories, including 1/4"-20 threads and a cold shoe receiver, making it perfect for mounting an external monitor.
Included baseplate
The Arca Height Adjustable 15mm LWS Baseplate allows users to adjust the height of their camera in relation to their rods. This helps maintain the LWS 85mm standard between rods and the center of the sensor in order to ensure compatibility with a wide range of accessories and camera bodies.
Included side handle
Also included is the Xeno Side Handle, which uses a NATO connection to mount to the left side of the cage with height adjustability. Non-slip silicone provides a textured grip that improves stability, while mounting points such as a cold shoe receiver and a 1/4"-20 thread with locating points accommodate additional accessories.
