Dedicated to the Leica M (Typ 240) and M (Typ 246), the BM240 Set L-Plate and Grip from Really Right Stuff pairs the fitted BM240-L Set L-plate with the custom BM240-G Grip Component to afford a versatile mounting platform along with a more robust right-handed grip for improved handling and shooting stability. The L-plate is an Arca-type compatible plate that facilitates easier, more stable switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations when working atop a tripod. The L-shape of the plate also benefits shooting in vertical orientation with panorama nodal slides, for maintaining a consistent nodal point, and shooting in horizontal orientation with side-mount gimbal heads. This specialised plate is also designed to replace the original Leica base plate and features a foam gasket for dust and moisture sealing. This plate has a magnet that ensures full camera functionality when it is properly attached and a tool-free wingnut screw is available for easy removal and replacement.
This set features a modular three-piece design that includes both the dedicated base plate and an L-component, which combine to form a dedicated L-plate, along with the grip component. This versatile configuration offers the same support as a one-piece L-plate, with the added ability to remove the L-component for a slimmer overall profile when needed. The custom-fit design also maintains full access to the battery, while a boss is available for using an accessory hand strap. Additionally, the CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminium construction is finished with a Type II black anodising, has two 1/4"-20 threaded accessory mounting sockets, and laser-engraved centre marks are placed on both axes for easy alignment.
