Marrying classic analogue musicality with modern clarity, the Drawmer 1979 Analog Channel Strip is a rackmounted channel strip with a pristine preamp and dedicated mic, line, and Hi-Z inputs. Featuring a Lift function for dynamically boosting low signals without clipping and fully parametric 3-band AEQ control, this channel strip offers many tools for modern tracking, mixing, and mastering.
Preamp and Input Section
The preamp input section allows you to switch the mic impedance to match any type of microphone, flip polarity, use a 30/80/110 Hz high-pass filter, activate phantom power, or engage stepped gain control. This section also features a dedicated front-panel 6.35 mm Hi-Z input and the Lift function.
AEQ and Compression
The 3-band parametric AEQ section offers variable frequency control and ±12 dB boost or cut per band. The compressor provides familiar and intuitive dynamics controls, including threshold, ratio, attack, and release, as well as a gain-reduction meter. These two sections can be swapped or individually bypassed.
Output and Metering
Finally, the output stage provides parallel processing via a wet/dry mix control and a -10 to +20 dB output trim knob. The analogue VU meter lets you monitor your output levels and can be switched to rescale mode, which adds a 10 dB pad to the readout. The 1979 includes a power cable for its manually switched internal power supply.
