Description

Feisol 's VH-60 Video Head is a lightweight video head that's ideal for consumer VH-60 camcorders. It's been CNC precision-milled, and uses stainless steel screws with an integrated panning base, and a convenient pan handle for smooth movements. It has a load capacity of 8kg and weighs only 990g. It also features a quick-scan visual bubble levelling device. A QRC-50 quick-release clamp is integrated into the design of the head for a precise fit with any Feisol quick release plate and many QR plates by other manufacturers.

    As an owner of a FEISOL tripod, monopod, ball-head, and some accessories, I have been impressed by the quality of their gear. It's always extremely well machined. I wanted a VH-60 but the price was too high. When Rubber Monkey offered this at a substantial discount I snapped it up. A web search found no proper reviews, and it's hard to get. I assume the reason is the availability of several decent fluid heads at lower prices. The head is impressive and the claim that it's similar to a fluid head is fair. It lacks the finely adjustable tension that would stop heavy kit from creeping up or down from the set angle, but the supplied long plate means my 400mm on a 5D (and a heavy spotting scope) is stable. Panning vertically and horizontally is very smooth, without obvious stiction. It is compact, and comparatively light. If you can find one with a decent discount (say 50% or more) I'd recommend it over a full-price "name brand" fluid head.
