The GVM-WM500X1 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is an easy-to-use, plug-and-play audio solution that delivers quality-sounding speech and dialog for budget-conscious vloggers, mobile journalists, and videographers.
This lightweight, efficient system includes a body-pack transmitter and a lavalier microphone. The mic can be clipped to clothing, close to the speaker's mouth—providing a clear, present sound that is far superior to the sound you get from the camera's built-in mic when shooting video. The mic connects to the transmitter via a 3.5mm connector.
The transmitter and receiver both run off built-in rechargeable batteries that last up to 6 hours fully charged. The camera-mount receiver's output plugs right into the audio input on your camera or recording device using the supplied 3.5mm cables. The belt clip on the receiver features a shoe-mount for camera mounting; the mount has a 1/4"-20 thread underneath for stand mounting.
The system offers a range of 30m, and the transmitter and receiver arrive already synced to the same operating frequency and ready to operate in Intelligent mode. The UHF frequencies are far away from the Wi-Fi range, reducing any chance of interference from cell phones and other wireless devices. If interference is encountered, there are twenty UHF frequencies—organised in five groups, each with four frequencies—giving you many channels to choose from to find a clean channel. The noise reduction setting cuts low frequencies to reduce wind and mechanical noise.
The receiver features a headphone output, great for real-time monitoring of your mic if your camera does not have a headphone jack. A short TRS cable for camera connection, a long TRRS connection cable for use with mobile devices, two charging cables, and a carrying case are included.
