By B&H Photo's Eric Calvi The K-Tek KP12FT Mighty Boom is a cabled boompole that extends to 12' and collapses down to 37". Lightweight at 1.8 lb, it features six sections made of wide graphite tubes designed to increase the stiffness and optimize handling balance. The result is quicker cueing and better user control of the microphone.
The KP12FT features a KFT Flow-Through base bottom module with a rubber bumper. It is equipped with a straight 14' cable terminated with a right-angle 3-pin XLR female connector at one end and a 3-pin XLR male connector at the other. Mighty Boom boompoles are made in the USA.
Interchangeability with Removable Headpiece
The KP12FT's removable headpiece allows for cable reconfiguration without any soldering required. No need to purchase a completely new system just to comply with a simple cabling change. The top attachment is a 3/8"-16 male thread.
Solid Grip and Smooth Feel
The locking collars feature a thick yet smooth surface allowing for a more subtle gradual extension of each section. The anodized, oval divots with exterior dimples provide a great grip and smooth feel when opening and closing each collar. The finish between the tubes allows for the sections to sleekly glide open and closed. Additionally, the Mighty Boom poles are hand-burnished to diffuse handling noise.
Configure your Boompole with Optional Bottom Modules
To allow for quick conversion when working in the field, the KP12FT is compatible with the KPCK12 cable kit and KPCCR Bottom Module (for conversion to a coiled-cable boompole with XLR side exit). It is also compatible with the KPTA Transmitter Adapter Module and KPTF Flow-Through Module.
