The EA8 Caveman LED Flashlight from Nitecore is designed for use as a powerful and easily transportable search-and-rescue or caving light. It has four normal outputs from 2 to 590-lumens that can be used for everything from reading to setting up camp. Its turbo mode floods a wide area with 900-lumens of light. In addition to the five output levels, there is a three-stage strobe mode with an SOS distress signal, an emergency location beacon, and a disorientating strobe. All output functions are controlled by a single, two-stage pushbutton switch on the handle. This intelligent switch enables momentary or constant-on modes, with a last-mode-memory function that automatically goes to the last output selected when it is turned on.
Built for durability and reliability, the Caveman features an aluminium housing with a scratch and corrosion-resistant Type III hard anodised finish. It is o-ring sealed to an IPX8 rating, making it submersible to 6.6'. It is also impact-resistant to 5'. Hardened fins at the back of the head act as a heat sink, helping to cool the light and prevent over-heating. Integrated circuitry allows it to run on either disposable or rechargeable batteries, and has reverse-polarity protection to prevent damage to the light if the batteries are installed incorrectly.
