Severe Weather Delivery Delays

Rubber Monkey Team · Apr 20 2026

Update 20/04

True to the Monkey values, we have made the difficult decision to close our Wellington Office and Porirua Warehouse on Tuesday, 21st April 2026. Our team’s safety is our priority.

We have been advised that our local courier depots will be closed and no parcels will be delivered or collected from our office in Wellington or our Warehouse in Porirua.

Any in-stock orders will be dispatched, hopefully, on Wednesday, the 22nd April 2026.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we hope you understand that whilst we hate to let you down, our Monkey’s safety will always be a top priority for us.

Whilst we are not there physically, we are still available to take your calls and respond to any email enquiries, so please do reach out if you have any queries.

Original Post:

Severe weather conditions are currently impacting key transport routes across New Zealand, leading to significant disruptions in delivery services. With multiple road closures and ferry sailings either delayed or cancelled, the delivery between regions has been heavily affected.

In particular, routes servicing the South Island and the lower North Island are experiencing the greatest impact. Flooding, high winds, and hazardous driving conditions have made it difficult for freight carriers to operate as usual, while port and ferry operations are also facing shutdowns. These combined factors are creating a backlog in deliveries, with some orders taking longer than expected to reach their destinations.

Our team are actively monitoring the situation and working to reroute deliveries where possible, but safety remains the top priority. Until weather conditions improve and transport links are fully restored, delays are expected to continue. Customers in affected areas are encouraged to allow extra time for deliveries and to stay updated through official transport and weather channels.
