Due to its form factor and physical dimension, the DECK Series holds plenty of internal room to allow adequate airflow to allow the enclosed drives to operate comfortably. It's also fronted with a venting panel and is quipped with 2 rear heat extracting fans that are practically silent in leaving you with a peace of mind while you work.
JBOD. Just Bunch Of Disks
The DeckTANK Series focuses on the applications of JBOD. Although not equipped with data redundancy, the JBOD function, however, provides the flexibility of data exchangeability with not RAID limitations. With our removable hard drive design, you can simply remove a drive and have it be used on another PC with ease.
Great for video editing
With many videos now requiring high resolution formats, this would mean high speed storage in order to meet the requirements of video editing. Through the DeckTANK’s Firewire 800 model (reaching 100MB/sec. speed), you can set it up to run at RAID 0 where you would be storing divided pieces of data into two drives simultaneously instead of one to increase the over all read/write performance.
Digital video surveillance applications
As the markets of video surveillance climbs, the needs for backup to store longer periods of captured videos are greatly needed. The DECKTANK provides a horizontal form factor to be easily stacked onto a surveillance DVR system and provides 2TB of storage for captured videos.
