Protecting your camera from the rigours of production and supporting large lenses and studio-sized accessories is the job of the Tilta ES-T05-19 Sony FS700 Camera Cage with 19mm Rods, a job it does with versatility while remaining a lightweight camera cage/support option. Not only does the rig support 19mm studio rods, it also includes an over the lens 15mm LWS rod support, allowing you to use both your 19mm studio accessories and your 15mm LWS rod mounted accessories on the same rig. This is useful for quickly switching from tripod to handheld shooting mode, no need to swap the cage, just add your accessories.
The cage consists of a baseplate designed for the Sony FS700, with two riser arms that form to your camera and feature a plethora of 1/4" accessory mounting points to protect your camera's body from the strain of attaching accessories. The top of the rig features a 15mm LWS rod clamp and a short rail that the top handle attaches to. The rail allows approximately 1" of forward to back adjustment so you can fine-tune your balance. The top handle itself incorporates five 1/4"-20 threaded mounting points and two cold shoes. The rig includes both a five-inch and ten-inch dovetail plate, two pairs of 19mm rods, a set of 19mm rod extensions, and a pair of 15mm rods.
Features
- The rig is built from precision-machined aluminium for a balance between strength and weight. It is anodised to increase its durability and corrosion resistance.
- The five and 25.4 cm dovetail plates feature 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 helicoil inserts for mounting to tripods. The plates are relieved to reduce weight and increase rigidity. The back of the dovetail rails gently slop up, making it easier to slide the baseplate on and off. A safety lug, and spring-loaded safety catch help prevent the baseplate and camera from accidentally sliding off the dovetail.
- The removable top handle features finger grooves for comfort and has approximately an inch of sliding balance adjustment.
- The rod clamps feature spring-loaded locking levers that allow you to tighten or loosen the clamp, even if the lever cannot rotate 360 degrees.
- The cage and baseplate feature three ARRI compatible rosettes: one rosette on each riser and one rosette on the sliding baseplate itself.
