The 480GB JetDrive 500 SATA III JetDrive Internal SSD from Transcend is a replacement SSD with 495 MB/s read and 427 MB/s write speeds for your MacBook. This upgrade kit includes tools, instructions, and an enclosure case that is less than 0.5" thick for housing your original drive. Inside the kit are two types of screwdrivers and a step-by-step guide on how to open your MacBook and copy over the data from your original drive to the JetDrive SSD. Once the JetDrive has been installed, use the JetDrive Toolbox software to cheque health status and enable TRIM support.
If you want to reuse the original drive as a portable drive for extra storage, Transcend has also provided an enclosure case for it. The enclosure is made from aluminium for protection and is powered via USB 3.0, which supports data transfer rates of up to 5 Gb/s. When you need to travel, use the included pouch to protect the enclosure from scratches.
