The Canon BG-E2N Vertical Grip/Battery Holder adds a vertical shutter release, and is compatible with up to two BP-511, 511A, 512, or 514 lithium-ion battery packs, or six AA batteries with included BGM-E2 battery holder. The BG-E2N provides an additional shutter release, main dial, AE lock/FAE lock and AF point selection controls for easier vertical shooting, as well as a 1/4-20 size tripod mount thread.

The BG-E2N replaces and improves upon the orginal Canon BG-E2 grip by adding water-resistant, and dirt-resistant seals for greater durability and to match the water resistant capability of the EOS 40D camera body. It is also compatible with the Canon EOS 20D, 30D and 50D.
