Pioneer DJ introduced the Pioneer Toraiz AS-1 Monophonic Analog Synthesizer as a follow-up to their first collaboration with Dave Smith Instruments, which brought us the Toraiz SP-16 sampling workstation. The Toraiz AS-1 combines classic, all-analog sound with digital control and phenomenal stability to form a thoroughly modern hybrid synthesizer. Its diminutive size and streamlined controls conceal a fully discrete sound engine based on the DSI Prophet-6, providing you with an intuitive connection to a flexible synthesizer.

The Toraiz AS-1's large 13-note touchpad-style keyboard and ribbon slider give you an extended range of sound-manipulation options. It's a blast to be able to spice up your live sets with original sounds, energetic arpeggios, and sequenced loops you create on the fly, and between the filter and envelope controls, you can easily pull off acid-style bass lines and other morphing mayhem. Top it off with seven onboard effects, including a wild distortion with a digital lo-fi edge, and you have a monosynth that's equally at home in the studio or sitting next to your DJ mixer.
