Description
The Western Digital My Book Duo 16TB Two-Bay USB 3.0 Type-C RAID Array is equipped with two 3.5" drive bays, each housing an 8TB hard drive, resulting in a total capacity of 16TB for both USB Type-C and USB Type-A systems. WD has chosen WD Red drives for their performance and reliability. The drives are initially configured in RAID 0, but can be easily reconfigured to RAID 1 or JBOD using the provided WD Drive Utilities software. The My Book Duo boasts a USB 3.0 Type-C port and comes with both a USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-C cable and a USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A cable. Thanks to RAID 0 and USB 3.0 technology, the My Book Duo offers sequential read speeds of up to 360 MB/s.
Notable features of the My Book Duo include a 2-port USB 3.0 Type-A hub, which expands the connectivity options of the host system, and AES hardware encryption for enhanced security and protection of sensitive data. It's worth mentioning that the My Book Duo is pre-formatted in NTFS for compatibility with Windows systems, and a reformat is required for use with Mac.
